Rules and Regulations
AGE RULE
60+ Division
All players must be 60 by December 31 of the tournament year.
Exceptions: ( The committee must be advised of exceptions before the first game )
Two players are allowed to be 57+
One goalie is allowed to be 55+
50+ Division
All players must be 50 by December 31 of the tournament year.
Exceptions:( The committee must be advised of exceptions before the first game )
Two players are allowed to be 47+
One goalie is allowed to be 45+
35+ Division
All players must be 35 by December 31 of the tournament year.
Exceptions:( The committee must be advised of exceptions before the first game )
One player is allowed to be 34+
One goalie is allowed to be 30+
30+ Division (Female)
All players must be 30 by December 31 of the tournament year.
Exceptions:( The committee must be advised of exceptions before the first game )
One player is allowed to be 29+
One goalie is allowed to be 25+
WAIVER FORM
All players participating in the Tournament will be required to sign a waiver form acknowledging the tournament rules and regulations prior to the start of their first game.
PUNCTUALITY
Teams must be ready to start on time or the game will be forfeited.
EQUIPMENT
Helmets, are mandatory and must be worn correctly. The referees are instructed to ask any participant who does not have all of the above equipment to immediately leave the game. Any participant who does not comply with the referee’s request will be assessed a delay of game penalty to be served by another player from his team. The offending participant may only return to the game if he subsequently fulfills the referee’s request to leave the ice and dress properly.
DISCIPLINE
Any team displaying unnecessary rough play will be warned once, and if the warning is ignored the team will be expelled from the tournament.
GAME PLAN: 60 minutes - 3 periods
a)Warm up 2 minutes
b)First period 14 minutes - last 15 seconds stop time
c)Second period 14 minutes - last 15 seconds stop time
d)Third period 15 minutes (last (1)minute stop time if score tied or one goal difference, 2 minutes during playoffs.)
e)Ice Cleaning 10 minutes
NUMBER OF PLAYERS
No limit. As many players as you wish can be dressed for the tournament. We suggest a minimum of 14 in order to be competitive.
Teams with only one goaltender dressed must accept a replacement of a second goaltender (because of sickness or accident) by the Tournament Committee.
IMPORTANT
All players must have played at least two games in the Three Game Round Robin to be eligible for Finals.
Playing rules
It is important that every player, coach, manager and team executive be familiar with the rules of the tournament.
No body contact
Any player who bodies intentionally, pushes, shoves or stands in front of, and does not avert body contact with an opponent, will be assessed a body contact penalty (3 Minutes).
No slap shots/Snap shot (Unless agreed by both teams and approved by referee)
Blade not to be higher than the shooters knee. Fake slap shots are not allowed.
Play will be stopped and zone advantage will be lost.
Fighting
Players assessed game and tournament misconduct and team will play short-handed for 5 minutes.
Match penalties
(Butt ending, spearing, kicking, attempted injure) Any match penalty will terminate the eligibility of the player to participate further in the tournament. A major penalty will be assessed and served by someone on the ice at the time of the infraction.
Any player assessed three minor penalties in one game will be given a game misconduct.
Length of Penalties
Running time, starts at puck drop after penalty has been assessed
Minor ....................… 1:30 minutes Stop Time
Double Minor ……………. 3 minutes Stop Time
Major .......................5 minutes
Misconduct ..............10 minutes
All other referees decisions will be governed by CAHA rules.
Designated Captain
Each team must assign one player as Captain.
Assigned player must wear the letter “C” on their sweater.
Only the Captain will be permitted to request rule clarification from the referee.
The referee will communicate only with the Captain.
Minor Penalties will not be open for discussion.
